Switzerland

Switzerland is a magical place with hundreds of miles of hiking trails, breathtaking mountains, the greenest hills and fields on earth, endless charming villages and beautiful cities filled with fine watches and chocolates. Some of our favorite places include Lake Geneva, the Valais, Bernese Oberland, St. Moritz and the Engandine, and the exclusive town of Zermatt with its direct views of the Matterhorn. LAKE GENEVA

Lake Geneva (Lac Leman) extends eastward from Geneva into Switzerland. It is the entry point to Switzerland from France and is home to towns and cities including Geneva, Lausanne, Vevey and Montreux along its northern shore. The lake has a backdrop of Alpine mountains and provides that introductory glance of the massive stone, bright green and ice blue water to come as you delve deeper into the countryside.

BERNER OBERLAND

The Berner Oberland is named for its Canton capital and the capital of the nation. It sits near the center of the country and provides some of the most dramatically beautiful scenery in all of Switzerland coupled with rivers, snow capped mountains, lakes, wonderful hiking, waterfalls, and outdoor activities of all kinds. A chalet stay here overlooking the valley is not soon forgotten.

ZERMATT

Valais is a region in southwestern Switzerland that has some of the most stunning and inspiring peaks and views in the world. It is home to the Matterhorn, Rhone Valley, Simplon Pass, St Bernard Pass and Zermatt. Throughout the Valais, as with the rest of Switzerland, nearly every street is marked with signs that provide the direction and distance to attractions and other towns reachable by hike. It is a paradise for the explorer.

ST MORITZ

St Moritz has attracted the world’s elite for centuries. In the winter it is among the most exclusive ski towns on earth, and in the summer it is home base for explorations throughout the region with incredible views and trails that run for many miles through the Engandin Valley.
